The effects of structural change on economic growth: A panel data analysis

This paper attempts to enhance empirical understanding of the effects structural-change variables on economic outcomes. The relationships between sectoral shares and (1) speed structural change (2) growth were examined for a large panel 111 economies over period 1971-2018. Given time series properties absence long-run relationship them, OLS VAR models employed. results are largely in line with previous research: it was established that lack industrialisation effort (manifested persistence agriculture as share GDP) ?servicisation? (the expansion services negatively affect GDP rates. In contrast, industry manufacturing positively influences growth, does accelerated transformation (represented by respective index change).
